Are you looking for some DIY activities for your kids? Parents know that keeping kids busy and engaged can be a challenge.  We have 3 kids ourselves and have been exploring the wonderful world of kid-friendly window paint! Get ready for a fun-filled adventure that will unleash your child’s creativity and brighten up your windows in the process. We have not one, but three amazing DIY window paint recipes for you to try, along with a homemade window cleaning solution to easily remove the paint when it’s time for a fresh canvas.

Don’t be afraid to get creative with it. Add glitter, use different types of acrylic paint, stencils, sponge stamps, etc. There are so many things you can do with these recipes. Our favorite is number one but with kool-aid for the coloring instead of food coloring. We also use sponge brushes, hands, and acrylic brushes instead of squeeze bottles.

Recipe 1: Vibrant Gel Window Paint

Ingredients:

– 1 cup cornstarch

– 1 cup dish soap (clear)

– Food coloring (assorted colors)

– Plastic squeeze bottles

Steps:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch and dish soap until well blended.

2. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bottle, using different colors for each bottle.

3. Pour the mixture into plastic squeeze bottles.

4. Shake well before use and let your little artist’s imagination run wild on the windows!

Recipe 2: Glowing Neon Window Paint

Ingredients:

– 1 cup flour

– 1 cup water

– Glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint (assorted colors)

– Paintbrushes

Steps:

1. In a bowl, mix together flour and water until smooth.

2. Divide the mixture into separate containers or cups.

3. Add different colors of glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint to each container and stir well.

4. Use paintbrushes to create glowing masterpieces on your windows.

5. Charge up the paint under direct light for best results.

Recipe 3: Scented Window Paint

Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup clear school glue

– 1/2 cup liquid laundry detergent (unscented)

– Kool-Aid packets (assorted flavors)

Steps:

1. In a bowl, combine clear school glue and liquid laundry detergent until thoroughly mixed.

2. Add Kool-Aid packets to create scented paint, using different flavors for each color.

3. Stir well to incorporate the scents and colors.

4. Let your little ones enjoy the sweet-smelling creativity as they paint their designs on the windows.

Once you’re finished painting and are ready to get those windows sparkling clean again, why not have the kids join in? Homemade window cleaning solution is easy to make, safe to use, and a whole lot of fun. Below is a recipe that we recommend. You can also use everyday dish soap (we like blue Dawn) and warm water.
